The Port Isabel City Commission will have a plate-full to talk about at their up-coming meeting.
On the list of topics for Tuesday’s meeting is the approval of the proposed $4.5 million budget and tax rate of 0.626327.
“The budget went up from last year’s because of inflation,” said Alonzo Echavarria-Garza, director of finance for the City of Port Isabel. “The property tax rate has not changed in years.”
The adoption of the tax rate is, as Echavarria-Garza put it, a formality and will not change the regular money flow from taxpayers.
