The Port Isabel High Silver Tarpon Marching Band returned Monday from the UIL State Marching Contest. The contest is held annually in the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The band gave as good, or better, of a performance in Monday’s prelims as it has given at any contest this season, but did not make the finals.
“I thought the kids had a great run. They did a really, really good job. They represented our school, our community with class, dignity, and pride. Every performance they’ve done since U.I.L. Pigskin has been better, and better, and better,” said Head Band Director Scott Hartsfield.
