Tarpons Show up Well against Donna North

The Port Isabel Tarpons football team looked pretty good in last Friday’s scrimmage against Donna North at Tarpon Stadium.  They tallied four scores to the Chiefs’ three and the defense looked strong.

Port Isabel got their running game going early.  The Tarpons got the ball first in the controlled portion of the scrimmage and, on their seventh play, quarterback Omar Silva dashed 67 yards around left end for the first score of the day.  Later in the same possession it was Silva scoring again from 39 yards out after catching a pass from quarterback Cesar Aguilera.

“I don’t know, I just turned on the jets,” Silva said on the sideline, while catching his breath after his first score.  “I thought he was going to get me from behind, honestly.”
