Most cities in South Texas are experiencing dips in their latest monthly net sales tax allocation from the Texas Comptroller’s office, while their payments for the first six months of the year are up.

Brownsville, Harlingen, Los Fresnos, South Padre Island, Port Isabel and Laguna Vista have decreased payments in June.

Port Isabel brought in a net payment of $150,202, down 5.1 percent from last June when it received $158,287. Year-to-date, however the city has collected $935,289, up 1.92 percent for the year.

Laguna Vista also saw a percentage decrease of 7.57 while receiving an allocation of $11,982, down from the $12,964 received last June. Likewise, the Town is up .18 percent with total payments to-date at $678,576.
