WEB EXCLUSIVE: LMWD early voting kicks off Monday

Elections graphic (640 px)Early voting for the upcoming Laguna Madre Water District (LMWD) election begins next week. Polling places are at the County Annex Building at 505 Highway 100 and City Hall during the following dates and times – Monday, October 20, through Friday Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Monday Oct. 27, through Friday, Oct. 31

The available Board of Director seats include position 1, between write-in candidates Rick Wells and Robert Vela, and position 2, between write-in candidates Nancy Lee Martinez and John P. Thobe. A list of declared write-in candidates will be on display at designated polling places for registered voters. The general election is Nov. 4.

The LMWD provides utility services for the coastal area and is in the process of amending infrastructure that is nearing the end of its recommended tenure with the approval of what expects to be a stable and effective long-term financial plan.
