Special to the PRESS
In efforts to keep South Padre Island beautiful, a dune restoration event has been slated for Saturday, May 19 to be followed by a celebration.
The event is part of the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, which is now in its sixth year and helps keep beaches, rivers and lakes across America “barefoot friendly.”
In 2012, Barefoot Wine and the Surfrider Foundation, along with community volunteers, embarked on a nationwide effort to hold 25 beach cleanups and dune restorations, culminating in SPI.
