The Rio Grande Valley Music Festival will hold its annual “Soup and Sandwich Fund Raiser” on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at the Siesta Village Hall, 2712 S. International Blvd. (FM1015), in Weslaco, beginning at 4 p.m. Admission is $5 and tickets, limited to the capacity of the hall, are available from RGVMF members, as well as at the door.
Four different soups will be offered, along with hot dogs and home-made sandwiches. Coffee, tea or water will be served. Come and enjoy a great meal, followed by an auction of desserts and items donated by local businesses. After the auction, a two-hour open jam will be held.
The Rio Grande Valley Music Festival will be held Feb. 14-19, 2012, at the Livestock Showgrounds, 1000 N. Texas Ave., in Mercedes.
This event is non-profit and proceeds, after expenses, are used to further music education programs among youth here in the Valley.
