The name of the event says it all: “A Spooktacular Halloween in the Park.”
The second annual event is slated Saturday, Oct. 29 from 6-9 p.m. at Rangerville Park, located on 1101 Rangerville Road, in Harlingen.
The event will feature a haunted trail, booths for trick-or-treating and business, games for the kids, Halloween Egg Hunt, Zumba performances, kids slides and much more.
In the meantime, organizers of the event continue accepting help from volunteers, cake donations for the cake walk (store-bought cakes, bakery-made cakes and homemade cakes are accepted), and candy donations for the trick-or-treat booth sites.
Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to call the Harlingen Parks and Recreation Department at (956) 216-5950.
“If there’s people out there that want to help us, from decorating the haunted trail to planning games with the kids and basically helping us, that’d be awesome,” said Esmeralda Martinez, Recreation Program Coordinator for the City of Harlingen.
Admission and parking at the event is free to the public.
