The Port Isabel Lady Tarpons volleyball team defeated Grulla-Rio Grande City on the road Tuesday night in four games. The win keeps PI alone in second place in the District 32-3A standings.
“We should have won in three games,” Head Coach George Hamilton said. “We just didn’t come out with our usual energy and movement. Also, we had a couple girls out because of illness, so we had to shift some people around.”
Port Isabel won the first game, 25-14, dropped the second game, 17-25, then closed the match out with wins in the third and fourth games, 25-13, and 27-25.
