Last week there was reportedly federal activity involving Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) near Derry Elementary, said ICE spokes person Adelina A. Pruneda.

According to the Laguna Vista Police Department, they issued permission to ICE agents to investigate a residence in Laguna Vista.

Though no action was reportedly taken at that destination, there was a bust involving five people in Port Isabel.

I hope this is a misprint, or the LVPD Chief was misquoted, because this is ridiculous. Pigs will fly when a two-bit department like Laguna Vista “grants permission” for federal authorities to do their job.

I guess the LVPD is unaware of the Supremacy clause in the Constitution. Sorry, but Feds will always trump the locals.
