The Laguna Vista City Council will consider options in furthering construction of a proposed $125,000 jogging/ walking trail at their June 14 scheduled meeting.
The council is expected to determine if the City should hire an architect or seek requests for proposals in constructing the trail, according to City Manager Rolando Vela.
Two years ago, the Town received a $100,000 grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to build a jogging/walking trail in the community, Vela said. The City’s $25,000 match will also go toward construction expenses.
At a Jan. 4 special meeting, the Parks and Recreation Board took action to recommend that the trail be built at a City-owned 15 acre tract of property.
