A trailer caught on fire on Wednesday, June 8 and spread to a pile of tires in Laguna Heights; no one was injured in the fire.

Port Isabel, South Padre Island, Laguna Vista and Los Fresnos fire departments all came to subdue the flames.

Roberto Castillo, the owner of the trailer that caught fire was left standing to the side, watching his home burn.

“A friend of mine was there with her son and she said she hooked up the radio outside on the pole, but we’ve been having problems with this transformer and I called CPL about it, and I think the problem became that pole,” Castillo said as he pointed to the light pole by his home. “And it jumped this way and shorted out my house. It caught my neighbor’s place on fire too, and it took the fire department, like, 40 minutes to get here. And that’s all I know.”
