The inspiration of a child is a wondrous thing; it is the time when imagination has few boundaries and reality is not a scary concept.

At the age of 59, writer Logan Hawkes can say that the inspiration he still has for his line of work comes from a childhood experience.

Texas born, Hawkes has traveled “Everywhere with the radio business.”

Most of his career was spent in radio and newspapers, usually working both jobs at once.

“It’s sort of a dual thing, you know?” Hawkes said. “I’ve had two jobs most of my life. In addition, I’ve been a freelance writer forever, or since I can remember, I guess.”
