How many musicians can fit on the top of a hill?

In the case of Christ’s Harbor Church’s (CHC) praise and worship band, it takes seven. Hill Top is a group of local talent that has performed together every Sunday for two years to lead worship in Laguna Vista.

The band members consist of Cassandra Castillo with lead vocals, Craig McWinney on the guitar, Damion Giacchino who performs bass and vocals, Darren Rapp on the keyboard, Tom Johnson is the drummer and Gary and Ellen Snyder handle the back-up vocals.

Giacchino, who is also on staff at the church as the director for the praise and worship at CHC, said Hill Top got together about two years ago. He was invited by the church to lead the worship and shortly after the invitation, McWinney and Rapp joined. The men knew one another from a separate musical group they had formed outside of the church called Pelican West.

As a group, Hill Top has been given the opportunity to open for the upcoming David Crowder* Band concert.

With David Crowder* Band being one of the biggest bands in contemporary Christian music today, Hill Top is honored to be able to play in the same show.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity. David Crowder has nine Dove Awards, and so it’s a wonderful opportunity to share the stage,” McWinney said.

Hill Top will be the big finale for local band performances.
