A few days in and all is well as the City of Port Isabel, along with the Laguna Madre Humane Society and the Friends of Isabel Y. Garcia Shelter have teamed up to work together at the animal shelter. The city is now officially operating the shelter but they are receiving tons of support from the other parties involved.
“It’s been very open,” said City Manager Ed Meza, “there is open lines of communication and that has made this seamless in the transition.”
Working together to move forward after months of turmoil there are meetings scheduled that will better define from and operational and an administrative stand point as to who will be responsible for what.
“We are going to all be on the same page,” said Meza ,”so that everyone knows what is expected here and how things are going to be done is so very important.”
The next step will be a meeting between in which the guidelines will be detailed.
“All three parties are having input on what will be said at that meeting,” said Meza, “we hope that it can be this week but are certain that it will happen within the next two for sure.”
