It was a rough road trip to Rio Grande City for Port Isabel Tuesday night as the Tarpons came up short against the Gators of Grulla, 61-56.
There were no surprises, according to head coach Al Senteno; “They were a good team when we played them here,” he said Wednesday afternoon. “They shot the lights out.”
One of Senteno’s key players, freshman Jimmy Puentes, was missing in action, which made a significant difference. It also didn’t help that the team made only 15 of 28 free throws.
